For many Internet marketers, pay per click and Google Adwords are not new. These internet tools have become widely used since their introduction in 2002 and since then, they have become important tools in the internet marketing industry.
However, there may be some who still find the idea of pay per click and Google Adword vague. Here are some basic ideas of what Google Adwords and pay per click is all about.
First off, pay per click was not introduced by Google. It was developed by the man who founded Goto.com, which was renamed Overture and is now owned by Yahoo!
Pay per click or PPC was designed as a marketing tool that enables businesses and companies to promote their businesses online through websites. This tool allows business owners to advertise on the internet as much as they can in as many websites they want. It also makes use other strategies such as search engine optimization in obtaining traffic.
Google Adwords for example is Google’s advertising tool, and it is following the same pay per click system in its operation. It is the company’s main pay per click tool used widely in internet advertising. Aside from text links, Google Adwords also uses banners in advertising.
Through this tool, the company has taken cared of back-end processes concerning businesses who want to advertise online and websites that will host these ads. Advertising is done by coordinating with Google on what you want to put in the banner or ad. You can then agree on the rate when the banner or the text is clicked.
After everything is agreed upon, Google will then offer website owners the opportunity to earn by placing these ads on their websites. When website owners sign up, they are allowed to place these ads and banners anywhere on their website. They can also choose the size and the color depending on their site design. When these banners or ads are clicked, payment will then be taken cared of by Google.
Google has indeed made a very good progress in the use of pay per click marketing system and the company has been the leader in this marketing strategy. Although the company has faced issues about keyword copyrights, it did not however hinder the success of their pay per click program.
