What Dialer Should You Use?

If you employ a call center as a major part of your business in order to generate sales, it is critically important that your dialer is used to its fullest potential. There are many types of dialers on the market that you could use, and each one of them can offer you a range of abilities that will save you a lot of time and effort.
A predictive dialer is a popular model because it can place an extremely high volume of calls every day. If this is your first time using a dialer like this, you may actually be surprised with how many calls it can actually make. Chances are your call center representatives will soon have more calls than they can actually handle.
Sometimes, though, a predictive dialer can cause you to lose some potential leads. The problem is that it is constantly trying to predict when a phone representative will be ready to handle a call. Since it is making several calls at once, a call could go through but there won’t be a representative available to handle it.
This is considered an abandoned call and there are regulations in place for how many of your calls are allowed to be abandoned in a day. It also leaves a bad taste in the mouth of the person your company just called.
Power dialers are another popular option. These dialers also automate the calling process, which means you can reach a lot of people every day (up to 300 or 350 calls in some cases). It won’t make as many calls as a predictive dialer, but it will definitely help prevent so many calls from being abandoned.
A power dialer, just like a predictive dialer, has the capabilities you need to increase productivity in the company, though it does require a more hands-on approach. You will have to put the control of the dialed call in the hands of a phone representative. The good news is that this will give them the ability to steer the call from the moment the number is dialed.
The most important thing to remember, no matter which dialer you go with, is to make sure the recipient is greeted promptly and in a friendly manner by a real, human voice. If they don’t answer, that same voice can leave a good message, which reflects better on the company that a standardized, pre-recorded message.
Both the predictive dialer and the power dialer can be extremely beneficial to your company. Whichever one you do finally choose, though, the one thing you have to remember is to treat your customers with respect and understanding.
