How To Get Better Ranking For Your Site With Article Marketing

In this article you are going to learn how article marketing can be used to increase your websites rank in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) and drive you all the free traffic you could ever want.
First off, I want to say that this is not an instant process and it will take some time for you to see results, but if you do what I tell you and stick to it, you will see results.
You need to have a basic understanding of SEO (Search engine optimization) to get the most out of this article. If you don’t, I suggest you search for “Stomping the Search engines” on Google and you will learn everything you need to know about SEO.
In almost any SEO endeavor, the first thing you want to do is figure out what keywords you want to target and rank for in the SERP’s. For those just starting out it is a very good idea to target low competition “long tail” keywords because they are much easier to rank for. I like to stick with keywords with less than 50,000 “phrase match” competing pages.
After you figure out what long tail keyword you want to target you then need to create the page you want to have ranked in the SERP’s. When creating this page be sure to include your target keywords in the title and H1 tags of the page as well as have them throughout your body text. You do not however want to keyword stuff your pages, keep the keyword density to 2% and 5%.
After getting the page created on your site, you want to write an article that is related to the content that you just created. The article should be short and to the point, around three to five hundred words, works best.
As soon as you finish the article, rewrite it twice. This is called article spinning and is not a required step but is highly recommended that you do it. Just go through your article and rewrite each paragraph so that they still say the same thing but in slightly different words. By doing this you can put together hundreds of unique version of your article to submit to the web.
Next, you want to create a compelling authors resource box that has a strong call to action for the reader to click through to your site. But here is where the magic happens. You are allowed 2-3 links to whatever pages you want in your resource box. You want the anchor text of those links to be the keyword you are trying to get your site to rank for. It is a good idea to vary the anchor text to include just the keyword, the keyword and supporting words, and it is even a good idea to throw in some junk words as well. This keeps you pages and links from getting filtered out by the search engines and keeps your site from being sandboxed or de-indexed.
Your next mission is to get that article out to the web to as many sites that will take it. This means post it to article directories, web 2.0 sites, article exchanges, etc that you can find. You want to have as many different places on the web linking back to your site as you can get, and if they happen to have a good Google page rank all the better.
As a final thought, I want to leave you with this bit of knowledge. The reason you want to spin your article’s like I discussed earlier, is so you don’t fall prey to the Google duplicate content filter, posting duplicate on the web will only hurt you if you do it on your own site, but if you post the same article across the web without spinning it first you run the risk of having the links either discounted or worst nor counted at all, making all your hard work null and void.
