The Advantages of New Chemical Pallets and Used Chemical Pallets
Nov 21, 2009 Business Management
Chemical pallets are offered throughout the United States and Canada by Compliance Packaging International Ltd. CPI sells used chemical pallets and is a manufacturer of new chemical pallets under its license CP-984 for companies that want to reduce pallet costs.
Over twenty five years ago chemical and plastics corporations in Europe decided to unify common chemical pallet sizes for the transport of chemicals and polymers.
Over the years many industries have adopted chemical pallets which are meant to be exchangeable and have common standards. In Europe, companies can receive a deposit back from their local pallet company for chemical pallets that they no longer need or have reached the end of life in the supply chain.
Chemical pallets, also known as CP-Pallets or CPs come in nine different types and sizes and are designated as CP-1, CP-2, CP-3, CP-4, CP-5, CP-6, CP-7, CP-8 and CP-9.
In the United States and Canada the chemical pallet types 1 and 3 are the most widely used. Other less common chemical pallet types found in North America include the CP 6, as well as the CP 9, and CP 8. The other chemical pallet designs are rarely if ever seen in the Americas.
Companies choose to use different chemical pallets based first upon their packaging types including supersacks, steel drums, bags or boxes. Chemical companies as well as other companies must also consider their handling requirements to decide upon which chemical pallet to use for their needs. For example, will the pallets be floor stacked or racked?
The Chemical Pallet 1 (CP1) and Chemical Pallet 6 (CP6) are pallets primarily used with sacks and boxes of any type.
The Chemical Pallet 2 (CP2) was designed to replace the euro pallet. This pallet is sometimes used in North America in place of the euro pallet when shipping goods to Europe.
The Chemical Pallet 3 (CP3) and Chemical Pallet 9 (CP9) are primarily used for large drums and supersacks.
The Chemical Pallet 8 (CP8) is used solely for shipping supersacks.
