A Large Dry Erase Board For Business Use

Not sure how to utilize a large dry erase board to get your employees enthused and push profits? Find out below how they can help get everyone in the office motivated and ready to sell.

Dave was the operations manager at a office supplies distributor. His responsibilities mainly revolved around motivating the employees and sales representatives who would be out on the road. Every day Dave would make a copy of the sales of the day before and put the sheet up in the break room. His manager brought up using a large dry erase board to display the stats, much like how she displayed her children’s chores at home. Dave thought a spreadsheet was better, because he liked lists of stats and didn’t care for messy markers and erasers.

At 5:30 in the afternoon, the sales representatives started heading back into the office. Some were glum, some were cheery, but all of them were tired. Dave noticed that many of them didn’t even bother going into the break room. Since they were on the road all day, they probably had lunch at a fast-food joint or restaurant with a client. They had all had a long day, and even though Dave told them to check the stats every afternoon, they were too tired to try to read it. And when they did look at the stats sheet, they had to crowd around a little 8.5″ by 11″ sheet of paper with data for 15 sales reps on it. Dave thought about getting a large dry erase board instead. Maybe if they had something bigger to look at, that would help them.

Dave purchased the large dry erase board from an online office supply retailer. They sent it out the day he ordered it and it got to the office only two days later. He immediately noticed that the markers weren’t anywhere near as troublesome as he thought before. He pictured his hands covered in ink after one use. He made rows and columns just like he was used to doing with his spreadsheet, and used different colors for each statistic.

Dave was a stat-writing wizard with his new dry erase board. He put it in plain sight, and noticed that his sales reps were becoming eager to compete with each other and get their numbers up. It also saved a lot of money on printer paper and ink. His staff no longer needed to squint to see the sales numbers, and everyone was able to see the information very clearly.

Sales started to increase as the sales reps got competitive with their sales, and they were motivating themselves through competition. Once Dave added a second board to show stats from another competing branch, he realized not only was he providing information in a better way. He was increasingly overall morale and sales.

Trying to find a way to get your employees more excited to work? Using a large dry erase board to display employee sales stats or general announcements can boost their productivity.
